Old Oak Ranch Conference Center nestled in the heart of California's historic Mother Lode, is strategically located just two and a half hours east of the Bay Area. This facility rests on 170 acres of unparalleled beauty that surrounds us in the solitude and serenity of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Check-in time is 1:00pm on Friday (1pm Thursday for 4 day retreats), and check out is 1:00pm on Sunday. The first meal for both start days of the retreat is dinner - so you may want to arrange to stop for lunch on your way to the retreat venue - or bring a packed lunch with you. You can drive up to the Family Center to unload your supplies. Parking for cars is marked on the map behind the Family Center. Please do not park on any grass areas - or beside the Family Center on the right. Say hello, find your table with your your name tag and goodie bag, and then start scrapping. You will be given your room #, you can choose your roommates. We scrap in the Family Center and sleep in Duncan Lodge, with spillover going to Redwood 1 and 2. Rooms are summer camp style. Duncan has two single beds per room. Redwood has either 3 or 4 bunks - however only 2 people are in a room (unless you choose to add a person). All meals are taken in the dining hall. The scrap room and sleeping accommodations are air-conditioned for when it is hot and have heating for when it is cooler. Remember that this is a fun weekend slumber party atmosphere. You are on vacation with your girlfriends, chocolate, and very little sleep so it can be loud! While some are night owls and some are early birds, please try and be respectful of others sleeping habits and remember we are all there to laugh and have fun. I am usually pretty good at names but please wear your name tag everyday so you get to know others, and they get to know you. |
